Sacred words, shared songs, and open hearts —
discover worship that connects tradition with today.
An Invitation
What You’ll Experience
When you step into worship at St. Alban’s, you enter more than a ritual—you join a living conversation with God and with one another, a dialogue that spans centuries and stretches into eternity. We join Christians across generations and across the world who have found meaning, comfort, and purpose in the rhythm of common prayer.
Worship at St. Alban’s is a meeting place of Scripture, Tradition, and Reason: a balance of ancient wisdom and contemporary insight. God speaks through the words of timeless liturgies, through music that lifts heart and mind, through preaching that engages life today, and through silence that lets the Spirit breathe. In all of this, we discover that worship is both mystery and mercy, belonging and becoming.
Worship Style
Our Broad-Church Approach
We describe ourselves as a “broad-church” parish: reverent yet relaxed, traditional yet hospitable, structured yet spacious enough for personal encounter with the Holy. Not every element of worship will resonate with everyone—and that’s by design.
The breadth of our Anglican tradition invites many paths into the presence of God. Whether you are drawn to quiet contemplation, joyful song, or sacramental participation, we hope you find here a way of worship that speaks to your heart.
What to Expect
In a typical Sunday Eucharist, you’ll hear readings from several parts of the Bible—Hebrew Scriptures, Psalms, Epistles, and the Gospels—following the Revised Common Lectionary. Together we pray ancient and modern prayers, lift our voices in hymns from The Hymnal 1982 and other approved songbooks, and offer intercessions for the Church and the world.
At the heart of our worship is the Holy Eucharist, the sacrament of Christ’s presence among us. Communion is offered in both kinds—bread and wine—as outward and visible signs of God’s inward and spiritual grace. The bread may be in the form of freshly baked loaves or traditional wafers; gluten-free wafers are always available.
Receiving Communion
In the Episcopal Church, all baptized Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion, regardless of age or denomination. We understand the Eucharist to be the gift and presence of Christ shared among his people—a meal of grace, unity, and renewal.
If you are not baptized or are discerning that step of faith, you are warmly invited to come forward for a blessing during Communion. Simply cross your arms over your chest to indicate this to the priest. If you would like to learn more about baptism or explore preparation for it, please speak with a member of our clergy. We would be honored to walk with you on that journey.
Worship at St. Alban’s is rooted in tradition and open to exploration. Whether you are a lifelong Episcopalian or new to liturgical worship, we invite you to bring your questions, your hopes, and your heart. Here, we pray that you will encounter the living God, and discover that you belong.
