Welcome to Canterbury Ministries, the Episcopal presence and outreach to UCLA and other Westside colleges. If you’re an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student seeking spiritual connection amid the whirlwind of academic life, you’re in the right place.
At this stage—rich with research, writing, and educational growth—our spiritual lives can feel both vibrant and vulnerable. Canterbury offers a community that travels that path with you. Together, we create space for honest questions, authentic worship, and mutual encouragement.
Every Thursday at 6:30 PM, join us in the church sanctuary for a brief, beautiful liturgical service. From there, we move to the Canterbury Room for a community-provided dinner by St. Alban’s members, followed by open-hearted conversation—sometimes diving into scripture, tradition, or liturgy, and other times wrestling with life’s bigger questions. It’s a vital pause in the week: delicious food, spiritual renewal, and thoughtful companionship.
In addition to Thursdays, Canterbury hosts occasional Sunday morning gatherings for reflection and discussion after the 10:30am service, community service outreach events, and fun social outings that get us off campus and exploring this great city of Los Angeles together.
All students are welcome. Whether you’re exploring faith, grounded in tradition, or simply seeking community, Canterbury invites you—and values what you bring. Here, faith and academic life blend, questions are honored, and you learn and grow with others on this journey.
