The Rev. Adam L. Dawkins
Rector
The Rev. Adam L. Dawkins serves as the 6th Rector of Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church.
Fr. Adam’s journey to ordained ministry has been shaped by a love of the church, a passion for community, and a deep appreciation for the ways God meets us in everyday life. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, he first encountered the Episcopal Church as a teenager and quickly found a spiritual home in its liturgy and tradition.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from the University of South Carolina, an MBA from Trinity University, a Graduate Certificate in Theology and Ministry from Boston College, and a Master of Divinity from the University of the South (Sewanee). In 2023, he was named a Canterbury Scholar at Canterbury Cathedral, deepening his connection to the worldwide Anglican Communion. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, specializing in Biblical Interpretation and Proclamation.
Before being called to St. Alban’s in February 2024, Fr. Adam served at Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver, British Columbia. His ministry has also taken him to parishes, dioceses, and religious organizations across North America. He began as a youth minister in South Carolina, later serving as Missioner for Youth and Young Adults in the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada. He has worked extensively in the ministry of stewardship and development, directing major campaigns and fundraising initiatives for Episcopal and Catholic communities, universities, hospitals, and arts organizations. Immediately before seminary, he served as Director of Stewardship and led How Firm a Foundation, a capital campaign to restore Trinity Church’s iconic church building in the heart of Boston’s Copley Square.
In addition to parish ministry, Fr. Adam has been active in civic and church leadership. He was elected three times as Town Moderator in Stoughton, Massachusetts, and today serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of the South (Sewanee) and the Board of Advisors for the Community of St. Mary, Southern Province.
Fr. Adam is married to Adam Hartsock. Together, they enjoy exploring the beauty of California and spending time with family and friends. They have two beloved rescue dogs, Becket and Cosmo, both named after Archbishops of Canterbury.
