Requiescat In Pace

Ronald Hay (1943-2025)

Beloved of St. Alban’s,

It is with both sorrow and gratitude that I share with you the news that Ron Hay, a beloved and longtime member of St. Alban’s, died peacefully in his sleep earlier today at the age of 82.

For decades, Ron and Vivian have been pillars of our parish and our diocese. In addition to having served on our vestry, Ron sang in the choir with joy and devotion, and his warm presence and steady faith were a gift to our community. While we grieve his passing, we also give thanks for a life well-lived and for the peace with which he was called home to rest in God’s loving embrace.

Vivian remains with us, though she is unwell. I ask your prayers for her comfort and for their family in this tender time.

I will share funeral details as they become available. In the meantime, please join me in praying for all who mourn as we commend Ron’s soul to Almighty God:

Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant Ron.
Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold,
a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming.
Receive him into the arms of your mercy,
into the blessed rest of everlasting peace,
and into the glorious company of the saints in light.
—Book of Common Prayer, p. 499

May Ron rest in peace and rise in glory.
May light perpetual shine upon him.
And may the love of Christ surround all who mourn.

In Christ’s peace,
The Reverend Adam L. Dawkins
Rector
